Fourth Day of Spring - Good Friday
The Jews, after arresting Jesus and condemning him to death, crucified him, his earthly missions of dedication being completed as he proclaimed to himself: "Consummatum Est." His body was handed over to his disciples by order of the Roman governor and carefully secluded in a cave away from the outrage of the senseless Jews. It was there that he rested from his labors and prepared to transition from this mortal life to the ethereal and eternal life. On this day, the Gnostic Church respects this rest, this sleep of the chrysalis undergoing mysterious work to rejoice tomorrow at the sight of the revelry of the beautiful butterfly.
