You have heard that it was said to the elders: you shall not perjure yourselves. And you will do what you have sworn to the Lord. And I say to you: you shall not in any way judge either by heaven, because that is the throne of God, or by earth, because that is the footstool of his feet, or by Jerusalem, because that is the city of the great king. Nor will you swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black. But your speech will be such: yes, yes, no, no, because everything more comes from the bad.
