Third Sunday of Autumn
Gospel Reading
The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while people were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.
When the wheat had grown and borne fruit, the weed also appeared. The servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Lord, didn't you sow good seed in your field? The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull it up?’ ‘No,’ he said, ‘lest by pulling up the weeds you also uproot the wheat. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will say to the reapers, ‘First pull up the weed and bind it in bundles to burn it, but gather the wheat into my barn.'
