Ninth Sunday of Spring
Gospel Reading
You did not choose me, but I chose you, and made you apostles, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give you. This I commend to you, that you love one another. If the world hates you, know that it hated me first. If you had been of the world, the world would love what is its own, but because you are not of the world, and I have chosen you from among the world, for this reason the world will hate you. But when the Paraclete comes upon you, whom I will send from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me, and so will you bear witness, because you are with me from the beginning. I tell you these things so that, being open, they may not be an occasion for you to fall. |
